Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Car Delivery Collection Specialist to join our logistics team at Gibsons Public Art Gallery. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the behind-the-scenes operations that support the vibrant art displays and events we host throughout the year. As a Car Delivery Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe transport of artworks and other exhibition-related materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and collect artworks from various locations including artists’ studios, collectors, and exhibition venues.
- Prepare art pieces for transport by securely packaging and handling them with care.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, ensuring all paperwork is completed timely.
- Communicate effectively with gallery staff, artists, and other stakeholders regarding collection and delivery schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition for safe transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards for transporting fine art.
- Assist in the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions as needed.
- Contribute to the overall logistics planning for gallery events, workshops, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field, preferably involving the handling of delicate items.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude while working independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with art transportation regulations and best practices is a plus.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in working hours, including nights and weekends when required for installations and events. You will be working both in and out of the office, driving to different locations across Vancouver and the surrounding areas.
